Today, much like many days, I listened to my clients in every way. One individual expressed, '...tells me to fuck off. What kind of respect is that? I told him that if he doesn’t respect me, then next time I am leaving. If I hear him tell me to fuck off one more time, cause, you just don’t do that to someone you respect. When he wants to talk, he wants me to be all aboard, but he doesn’t even give me the time of day.' This situation, in particular, is deeply saddening, where one partner is being called names, and the desire to separate stems from the positive aspects of the relationship being overshadowed by a negative cycle.
In relationships, it's crucial to help our partners flourish, and they, in turn, need to support us. Providing support is more effective than conveying negative sentiments. Once negativity creeps in, resentment follows, making it challenging to bounce back.
